Wei CuiWei Cui is an associate professor in the Faculty of Law, University of British Columbia, Vancouver, Canada. Between 2006 and 2013, he taught tax law in Beijing, and assisted numerous Chinese government agencies, including the Budgetary Affairs Commission of the National People's Congress, the State Council's Legislative Affairs Office, the Ministry of Finance, the State Administration of Taxation, on a variety of tax legislative and regulatory matters involving business and individual income taxation, VAT, and tax administration. He has also held visiting academic appointments at the law schools of Columbia, Melbourne, Fordham, and National Taiwan Universities, and the FGV Law School Rio de Janeiro. Professor Cui has had extensive practical experience in both US and Chinese tax law. He worked for the firms Simpson Thacher & Bartlett and Clifford Chance both in New York and in Beijing. Between 2009 and 2010, he served as senior tax counsel for the China Investment Corporation. He is a current member of the Permanent Scientific Committee of IFA.
